Dear Clients, Planning Partners, and Friends of Cain, Cain & Janik,
Every year about this time, those of us who live in college towns have the same feeling. We savor those last few weeks of our quiet community, knowing it won't stay that way for long. Summer in Norman has its own special rhythm. We enjoy being able to find parking on Campus Corner, and we know we can get a seat on one of our favorite restaurant patios without much of a wait. Then August arrives.
Almost overnight, moving trucks appear, apartments fill up, and parents can be spotted pushing overloaded carts through Target and every Walmart in town. Lindsey Street gets busier, Campus Corner comes back to life, and suddenly our quiet little summer town belongs to the students again.
Truthfully, we wouldn't have it any other way.
Something is refreshing about watching another school year begin. It reminds us that every season of life brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and prepare for what's ahead.
That's really the inspiration behind this month's newsletter. While children are packing backpacks and parents are checking school supply lists, it's a good reminder that grown-ups have a few "back-to-school" assignments of our own. Some are practical. Some are financial. And some involve making sure the people we love won't be left with unnecessary questions someday.
After nearly two decades of helping families through life's biggest transitions, Marty, Mitch, and I have learned that the easiest problems to solve are the ones we prepare for before they become emergencies.
So, while we're all getting used to the student traffic again, adjusting to the return of thousands of students, and counting the days until the August heat finally breaks, I hope you'll take a few minutes to enjoy this month's Back-to-School blogs. I think you'll find a few ideas worth adding to your own "grown-up" homework list.
As always, thank you for letting all of us at Cain, Cain & Janik be part of your family's story.
With care and appreciation,
Tamara Cain
