Dear Clients, Planning Partners, and Friends of Cain, Cain & Janik,
A few years ago, our son Brooks helped us start our University of Oklahoma law student internship program. It has turned out to be a wonderful addition to the Cain, Cain & Janik team.
Brooks graduated from the OU College of Law in 2023, and during his final year, he helped us recruit our very first intern. We received 52 applications for one position! Brooks helped us narrow the field and decide who to interview. We hired our first law student intern that summer.
Since that time, we generally have two OU law students working with us at any given time. We usually have one intern who has completed the first year of law school and another who has completed the second. They bring energy, curiosity, fresh ideas, and, thankfully, a pretty good understanding of technology!
This year, those students are Reece Carmen and Kaeley Tortorici. Reece, a Norman native, recently completed his second year at OU Law and serves on the Oklahoma Law Review. Kaeley, from Ada, completed her first year of law school after earning an undergraduate degree in finance and working for several years in wealth management.
And then there’s Noelle Woodhouse, an OU student who serves as both an intern and our Marketing Assistant, bringing yet another perspective and plenty of creativity to our team.
What I love most is that they’re not just here to watch and learn. They contribute. They ask good questions, tackle real projects, and help us serve our clients better. Experience matters tremendously in our profession, but I’ve learned that pairing that experience with the energy and ideas of the next generation makes our entire firm better. And perhaps even more importantly, we’re getting the opportunity to help develop talented young people who understand how we practice, how we care for our clients, and what it means to be an Estate Planner for Life™.
That’s an investment in the future we’re pretty excited about.
With care and appreciation,
Tamara Cain
