Our Founders

Marty and Tamara Cain founded Cain, Cain & Janik to fill a critical gap in estate planning services within the Norman and Oklahoma City communities. They recognized that traditional estate planning often focused solely on legal documents, neglecting the personal stories, values, and unique needs of each family. Driven by their passion for families and legacy building, they aimed to create a firm that offers personalized and compassionate estate planning, ensuring that each client’s voice, vision, and values are at the heart of their plans.

As native Oklahomans, Marty and Tamara met while attending the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where their exceptional teamwork earned them the Albert C. Hunt Practice Court Award for being the outstanding trial team in Fall 1990. They married the following year and have built a strong personal and professional partnership over the past twenty years.

Marty holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and a law degree from the University of Oklahoma, graduating in 1991. He has a passion for leadership, having served as President of his college fraternity and in various roles within his church and community non-profit organizations.

Tamara, originally from Okeene, Oklahoma, earned a Bachelor of Science in Family Relations and Child Development from Oklahoma State University before obtaining her law degree in 1991. She excels at integrating the human element into estate plans, helping clients convey their hopes and values to future generations.

As the heartbeat of the firm, Marty and Tamara lead with integrity, dedication, and a commitment to continuous education. They guide families through the estate planning process with clarity and compassion, fostering long-term relationships with clients and other professional advisors. Outside of their professional lives, they enjoy the outdoors in western Oklahoma with their two sons, Stephen and Brooks, and their beloved dog, Bo. Their dedication to family and community drives everything they do, making Cain, Cain & Janik a trusted and respected partner in estate planning.
